Human Resources Manager
Atlantic Roofers was founded in Cocagne NB in 1972. Along with its subsidiaries North Shore Roofing and Atlantic Metaclad, the company serves Atlantic Canada in commercial, industrial and institutional roofing systems, and architectural metal systems.
The primary duties of this role will be functional responsibility for Human Resources & Recruiting for the company and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will work with the leadership team and will be accountable for supporting managers and the business to champion company culture and develop the function to position the company for growth as defined in their Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
Other responsibilities include:
- Manage HR & Recruiting function along with supporting 180 full-time employees.
- Represent the HR & Recruiting agenda at the leadership table.
- Act as an advisor to the company to become an employer of choice by 2028.
- Provide advice, guidance and support for leaders.
- Be active and directly involved in group benefit plan renewals.
- Build a team by hiring an additional team member (recruiter)
- Accountable for recruitment and workforce plan and management of recruiter
- Provide input and manage the company wage, salary and incentive program.
- Vendor qualification and implementation of a cloud-based HR System
- Inform managers of legislative changes, train managers on interpretation
- Improve the onboarding process in collaboration with leaders.
- Have regular recurring calls with branches and leaders to stay current on HR issues and challenges.
- Guidance to leaders on performance management and recommendations on how to improve the current process.
Qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience as a generalist with a combination of corporate and/or operational HR.
- Post-secondary education in business, HR or related fields.
- Solid understanding of employer of choice.
- Experience with executing or managing high volume recruitment.
- Experience with Temporary Foreign Worker Programs.
- Trust and Relationship building.
- Ability to diagnose and find solutions to challenges.
- Experience supervising HR staff members.
- CPHR designation an asset.
- Labour Relations experience an asset.
